TO GROW OR NOT TO GROW - a true story
"Thomas was not a child for whom academia was easy but being part of my 'Eco Warriors' Club sparked a desire to learn about all things 'green'. So, inspired, he asked for a plot in his mum's garden to become his veg plot and tended to his lettuces, leeks, tomatoes, potatoes willingly and diligently. He participated in developing his school grounds which ultimately led to a National Healthy Schools Award and the Eco School Award. However, as his class teacher, my lasting memory was the photograph of a muddy Thomas in his garden plot and his proud presentation of a box of his vegetables as a leaving present to me! "
